Built on a proven model

Confluence is modelled on Interchange UK, the industry forum for the mobility sector, which now attracts more than 10,000 people. Meetings of Minds launched Interchange UK, and Confluence is convened by the team behind that launch. Like Interchange UK, it is built on content: open, inclusive and focused on the issues that matter to the people doing the work.

The convenors

Andrew Dowding, of Meetings of Minds, is a former publisher of New Civil Engineer.

Mark Hansford is a former editor of New Civil Engineer and a former director of knowledge at the Institution of Civil Engineers. He is the technical author of PAS 4010.

They are supported by a small team of infrastructure journalists and editors that includes the former editor of Ground Engineering and a former deputy editor of New Civil Engineer. Between them they have decades of experience in creating infrastructure content that the sector trusts and turns up for.

The Advisory Group

Confluence is guided by an Advisory Group of leaders from water companies, major programmes, contractors and designers. It meets before, during and after the event to shape the agenda, test it against what the sector needs, and identify the blockers and enablers the community should work on together.

Ann Bishop chairs the Advisory Group. She founded Indepen, is a former member of Ofwat's expert panel and a former non-executive director of Affinity Water, and chairs the UK Power Networks Customer Engagement Group.

Partners

Confluence partners and sponsors make the forum possible, and work with the Advisory Group and the editorial team to help shape the programme.
